Mississauga covers more ground than people realize and the housing changes completely depending on where you are.
Port Credit and Lorne Park are older, closer to the lake, and a lot of those homes have been renovated more than once. Erin Mills, Meadowvale and Applewood are mostly seventies and eighties. Churchill Meadows and the newer pockets are two thousands and up. Three different conversations.
Near the lake
If you are in Port Credit, Clarkson or along the water in Lorne Park, wind and moisture off the lake are part of the job. Any weakness in how the outside of the window is sealed will find you eventually. I spend more time on the exterior detail on those homes than I do anywhere else, and it is the part nobody sees.
The seventies and eighties homes
Original units are past done. Aluminum frames sweating in winter, wood sashes swollen shut, sliders off track. These are the houses where a proper replacement makes the most obvious difference, because you are coming from so far behind.
The newer areas
Same as the other newer parts of the GTA. Builder grade windows chosen on price, now fifteen to twenty five years old, failing on the south and west elevations first.
Areas I cover in Mississauga
Port Credit, Lorne Park, Clarkson, Streetsville, Erin Mills, Meadowvale, Cooksville, Applewood, Sheridan, Churchill Meadows and Malton.
One honest note
Mississauga is a longer drive for me than Vaughan. It does not change my price and it does not change the work. But I will say this plainly, I am not going to take a job anywhere I cannot come back to if something needs attention two years from now. Mississauga I can. Everything goes through me and that includes after the install.
